Key Responsibilities:

Sales Strategy and Business Development

  • Lead and execute sales strategies, annual plans and market approaches to achieve MICE revenue, room night, event space and attraction related sales targets for Resorts World Awana.
  • Drive business from meetings, corporate events, government events, GLCs, associations, team building, family day, golf, sports events, music festivals and Eufloria-led programmes.
  • Identify new business opportunities from corporate clients, government agencies, GLCs, associations, training consultants, schools, universities, event organisers, sports bodies, golf organisers and international partners.
  • Develop packages, pricing proposals and value propositions that position Awana as a complete destination venue with rooms, event space, F&B, golf, Eufloria, attractions, outdoor venues and resort experiences.
  • Actively source leads, conduct sales calls, presentations, site inspections and business meetings to convert opportunities into confirmed revenue.

 

Team Leadership and Performance Management

  • Lead, guide and manage direct reporting MICE sales team members to achieve individual and team sales targets.
  • Assign account focus, market segments, weekly priorities and sales action plans to ensure clear ownership and accountability.
  • Review team sales activities, proposals, quotations, site inspections, pipeline status, lost business and conversion progress.
  • Coach team members on client engagement, negotiation, proposal quality, follow-up discipline and cross-functional coordination.
  • Prepare sales updates, pipeline reports and performance analysis for management review.

 

Resorts World Awana Portfolio Development and Event Acquisition

  • Grow event space utilisation by securing new and repeat events across both conventional MICE and non-traditional event segments.
  • Drive Eufloria as a key attraction and experience within MICE packages, education groups, incentive programmes, team building, lifestyle events and special events.
  • Develop and pursue opportunities for golf tournaments, sports events, outdoor activities, music festivals, lifestyle events, product launches and destination-based programmes.
  • Identify and support bidding opportunities for regional and international events that can generate room nights, event revenue and resort-wide spending.
  • Work with promoters, event owners, sports associations, golf organisers, agencies and partners to create commercially viable event concepts for Awana.

 

Account Management and Client Servicing

  • Manage key accounts and serve as the senior point of contact for strategic clients and high-value opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, government agencies, GLCs, associations, event organisers, training consultants, schools, sports bodies and golf organisers.
  • Understand client objectives and recommend suitable event concepts, packages, programme flow and resort experiences to meet their needs.
  • Negotiate commercial terms and close sales in line with approved pricing, profitability and internal approval requirements.
  • Ensure high standards of client servicing, timely follow-up and professional communication throughout the sales cycle.

 

Event Planning and Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Work closely with internal departments including hotel rooms, banquet, F&B, Attractions, Golf, Theme Park, Events & Entertainment, Transport, Operations, Finance, Marketing, Social Media, Public Relations, Legal, Compliance, Rewards and other related departments to ensure smooth event planning and execution.
  • Coordinate quotations, contracts, booking arrangements, deposits, event orders, food tasting, site inspections, rooming requirements and programme details.
  • Ensure client requirements, changes, approvals and operational information are properly documented and communicated to relevant teams.
  • Support event delivery and resolve sales-related or client-related issues before, during and after the event.
  • Conduct post-event follow-up and gather feedback to improve future event delivery and strengthen repeat business opportunities.

 

Commercial and Administrative Management

  • Prepare and review proposals, commercial terms, quotations, contracts, proforma invoices, event orders and other required sales records accurately and promptly.
  • Monitor event revenue, room nights, attraction tickets, event space utilisation, payment timelines, costs and billing matters to support commercial control and smooth event closure.
  • Maintain accurate account, lead and booking information in Dynamics 365 or other designated systems.
  • Prepare sales reports, pipeline updates, performance analysis, major event P&L commercial terms  and market intelligence for management review.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, MICE SOPs and relevant internal procedures.

 

Job Requirements: 

  • Bachelors Degree of Hospitality Management, Event Management, Business Administration, Marketing or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years in strategic event management, focus on MICE events.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Dynamic 365 for business needs.
  • In-depth knowledge of the MICE industry, including trends, competitors, and market dynamics.
  • Travel is required for client meetings, site inspections, and industry events.
