The Resort Communications & PR Manager will play a role in driving positive media coverage and engagement with all the Resort’s products, delivering credible, independent third-party endorsement of the experience and the RWG brand. In addition, the role also includes special liaison, customer feedback and crisis communication. 

This position will report to Vice President Resort Communications & PR.

 

MEDIA RELATIONS

This position will have responsibility for content generation and publishing for media and consumer audiences, as well as management of strategic PR plans that support the overall Resort’s goals.

 

Job Responsibility

Collaborate with VP Resort Communications & PR to further develop a PR Strategy that increases awareness and understanding of RWG, both in the Malaysia market and targeted markets in Asia.

  • Oversee management of strategic PR plans that support the overall resort’s goals, managing investment allocation and partnering with third party agencies to accomplish the work.
  • Create and publish compelling content tied to RWG publicity goals and current events for media and consumer audiences
  • Plan media coverage, align calendars and manage issues that may arise
  • Oversee teams that will foster relationships with social, online, print and broadcast media
  • Build relationships with top media influencers at major media outlet
  • Manage projects that will bring media to RWG.
  • Strong knowledge of the media, social and key opinion leader landscape in Malaysia and key Asia countries
  • Demonstrated success working with leading media outlets in driving news media coverage for large multi-national brand or via agency role. Competent at developing key strategies to drive earned media coverage.
  • Keen relationship builder with solid media relations. Strong leadership skills to drive large scale, complex projects on time and on budget.
  • Having experience and understanding Crisis Communication is an added advantage.
  • Excellent writing skills

 

 

SPECIAL LIAISON

The resort receives shareholders, analysts, local and international delegations and dignitaries throughout the year. The PR Manager is also tasked to promote the resort positively by giving presentations and tours to these group of customers.

 

CUSTOMER FEEDBACK

Collecting and addressing customer feedback is crucial in the hospitality industry.  The resort values customers’ opinions as their feedback will help the resort improve on its services and continue to meet customers’ expectations.

Job Qualifications:

  • At least 6 years’ working experience in Public Relations; at least 4 years’ experience in management role as a team leader;
  • Bachelor degree or above; Master in management is preferred;
  • Extensive knowledge of the news media environment within Malaysia and Asia, including the role of Social media and key opinion leaders.
  • Keen project management and planning skills to translate strategic direction, and investment into world class Public Relations.
  • Creative thinking with an ability to connect strategic rationale to media driving ideas, with an understanding of the types of content that will further produce earned media coverage.
  • Interact with a variety of internal and external partners to represent RWG with media influencers, including editors, publishers, news directors and other top journalists, as well as internal executives from a wide cross section of Theme Parks and Entertainment.
  • Specialized skill with deep understanding of the ever-shifting news environment and media partner landscape.
