Supports the LDE Manager in spearheading strategic initiatives and execution of all learning, development, and employee engagement initiatives for Genting Theme Parks. By leveraging data-driven insights and building strong stakeholder relationships, this role is pivotal to diagnose and address specific operational challenges, designing and deploying targeted training programmes, systems, processes, and engagement strategies that are directly linked to departmental and organizational objectives. Additionally, this role includes a strong coaching component, guiding team members to achieve their professional and personal development goals. 

This position operates within a dynamic and fast-paced environment at Genting Theme Parks and requires extensive collaboration with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders. This role also involves frequent interaction with frontline team members to gather insights and ensure the efficacy of all programmes. The incumbent will be expected to foster a proactive, solution-oriented, and highly collaborative approach to their work, serving as a key partner in driving organizational effectiveness and employee engagement.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum qualification of Bachelor’s degree educated or equivalent skills and experience. 
  • HRD Corp certified trainer is an added advantage. 
  • Obtained or working towards a professional training qualification. 
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in management or supervisory positions, with a proven track record of successfully leading, managing, and mentoring teams.
  • Direct experience working within a Learning and Development or Employee Engagement function, demonstrating a clear understanding of the full training lifecycle—from needs analysis and programme design to implementation and evaluation. 
  • Experience in talent management, recruitment, and project management, particularly for learning, development and engagement initiatives.
  • A background in creating and executing effective employee communications and engagement initiatives. Some design experience with digital or printed resources is advantageous.
  • Experience coaching, mentoring and supporting medium size teams/small enterprises.
  • Experience working in the theme park or visitor attractions industry is highly desirable and considered a significant advantage. 

 

Job Descriptions:

  • Collaboration & Strategic Support: Support the LDE Manager in creating compelling proposals and business cases to gain approval for key initiatives that enhance overall organizational learning and the employee experience. This role is crucial for actively seeking opportunities to improve inter-departmental collaboration and communication while driving resort-wide standards in quality, safety, and behaviour.
  • Strategic Consultation: Be the point of contact for all LDE-related matters. Advise and consult with key stakeholders across all theme parks on strategic interventions, and also serve as the liaison with the central HR departments on relevant issues.
  • Training & Programme Management: Support LDE Manager to manage the end-to-end learning lifecycle, from conducting training needs analysis (TNA) and designing programmes to their final delivery and evaluation.
  • Quality Assurance & Content Excellence: Review and ensure the quality of all learning materials and programmes developed by the team. Maintain an understanding of new educational tools and propose them for implementation to improve content, delivery, and overall approach. 
  • On-the-Job Training (OJT): Guide operational teams in implementing training master plans, observing OJT processes to ensure trainer quality and content delivery are optimized for success. • Training Environment: Assist in setting up and maintaining training rooms and areas to ensure they meet all learning requirements.
  • Engagement Strategy: Support the delivery of various employee engagement initiatives aimed at motivating, recognizing, and retaining employees. Contribute creative ideas to deliver on the overall engagement strategy.
  • Communication: Develop and oversee comprehensive communication strategies that bridge all levels of staff and management. This includes creating engaging frameworks and producing eye-catching materials in various formats—including print, digital, and video—to effectively promote and support LDE activities.  
  • Recognition & Reward: Identify and highlight high-performers through appropriate channels and implementing employee recognition scheme theme park wide, designed to support, engage and motivate team members.
  • Employee Support: Serve as a trusted point of contact for team members, providing guidance and support on a variety of matters to ensure their well-being, personal growth and positive work experience. 
  • Leadership & Mentorship: Actively champion talent development and engagement by acting as a peer coach and mentor. To gather information on industry standards and best practices, then effectively communicating these requirements to business partners and stakeholders to drive continuous process improvement.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Plan, manage, and facilitate the preparation of regular reports on learning and engagement activities. This includes using data from surveys (e.g Employee engagement Survey, Training Programme Feedback) and other sources to build compelling business cases that highlight key people-related issues, justify improvements, and drive positive organizational change.
